HELD 11TH   – 13TH NOVEMBER, 2020

The 3 day training started at 11th November 2020 and ended 13th November 2020 10.00 – 6.00pm each day. The theoretical aspect of the training was conducted on Wednesday, 11th November, 2020 at 10.00am. The chief of Kotoku Niikoisturu I introduced SAT Foundation and its partners, Leaders Consult Ghana to the team. In all, there were 36 participants involved in the training from start to finish. These are vulnerable young women and girls mostly school dropouts and those never been to school to have employable skills to earn a living. It is in this vein that participants were selected within these 3 communities, in Adjen Kotoku to be trained in vocational skills specifically bakery and juice making. According to the chief he indicated that teenage pregnancy is on the rise in the community hence there is the need to sensitize them and train them on employable skills for business.

Participants were trained the first day on entrepreneurial skills specifically skills of every successful entrepreneur and gender especially on women empowerment. Participants asked questions in their local language and gained very good responses. Participants further zoom into theory in vocational skills and juice making and some ethics led by Leaders Consult Ghana.

Day 2 began with participants in their apron and scarf in anticipation to start the practical session. The Chief and its elders were present to inspect what the participants were doing and encouraged them to attach all seriousness to it. In fact the skills training adopted a self-demonstrating style. The Leaders Consult led by Md Ajara Martinson led the team to form 6 groups 5 per each group at a table and were given everything to do on their own whiles the facilitators tells them what to do. At the end of the training program, participants were able to bake sponge cake, atsomo, polo, meat pie, short bread biscuit, doughnut, spring roles etc, as well as juice such as sobolo, pineapple ginger juice, smoothies, coconut ice cream among others. They were very happy since the approach brought about a professional touch to what they have done.

The Queen mother was also present and encouraged them to ask several questions.

The closing ceremony being the third day brought dignitaries to grace the occasion. The attendees were the Chief, queen mother and sub queens of the community, the Head Pastor of the community, some parent of participants and other eminent elders. The dignitaries also include the crime officer of the community. The eminent persons awarded certificates to all participants. After the event the Head pastor prayed for the team including the Tobinco Group of companies for God’s blessings whiles the chief and queen mother rendered appreciation to the team and for that matter TGC and even asked for more of such projects.
