Rachel Anders stated that “A journey of a lifetime starts with the turning of a page”. This indicates that education is very good for all as a life time tool. Learning how to read and write serves as a guide to live a quality life. It is in this vein that the Foundation organizes adult literacy for those who have partially being to school and those who have never been to school to learn how to read and write and this form part of their way of life.

Education has limited the self-confident of adult who have never been to school. Kofi Annan once said “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope”. This is because one walks around and could not tell what is happening around him or her and keep wandering. All the same the Foundation has made participants of adult literacy to be hopeful that they are also part of the society.

These adult literacy participants undergo series of English literacy lessons to enhance their command on the English language. They engage in exercises of which examinations were part, thus a written exam that aids facilitators to access their understanding of lessons so far and to guide in the formation of their lesson notes.

The participants are learning quickly and beginners gave fantastic testimonies as they can chat on whatsapp and even understand messages sent.

Below were some sampled Testimonies;

I have seen more improvement. At first there are certain words I couldn’t pronounce and understand but now by God’s grace I can. I was unable to mingle with peers but now I can. I now read English Bible on my own. I use to limit myself in terms of speaking in public but the Adult Literacy has helped me” – Mr. Duah

“I am able to read people’s messages for them. I have built self-confidence. I can write my name and sign when I go to the bank. I can also do banking transactions without difficulty or fear. I pray at the end of this school I will be able to express myself well and speak in public. I have never been to school before but now no one believes it because of the Adult Literacy class. Through SAT Foundation, I can open bible, I can identify Genesis and other books in the scripture.” – Sarah
