The Three Kings Special School for the blind at Mafi-Avakpedome averted its decision to close down the school due to non-availability of food for the students.
The re-decision followed an assurance by the Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation formerly the Tobinco Foundation to support the school in their feeding during a visit to the school in August 2015.

Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin Foundation, Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies also built a boarding apartment for the school as part of his 50th birthday celebration to make the environment more conducive for learning by such special students.

Mr Ahiati Newell, Headmaster of the School on behalf of the students expressed their profound gratitude to Mr Tobbin for showing much love and concern to the school through their generosity.

He said: “We decided to close down the school because we had not received any feeding grant from government from the beginning of the term”.
He noted that not being able to feed the students affects their learning since some of them attend school without any personal food items.
The Foundation also supported the school with assorted food items and drugs such as Lofnac and cough mixtures.

The food items included three bags of 50kg rice, two gallons of cooking oil, two cartons of sardine, two cartons of mackerel, one box of tin tomatoes, one box of Milo, and a bag of sugar worth GHS 5,000.00.

Mr Ahiati who received the items on behalf of the school expressed his profound gratitude to the Foundation for their enormous support and urged other nongovernmental organisations to emulate the example.
